Who Are the BHR Board Members?
The Building Healthy Relationships Board is made up of members that represent various community and professional organizations in Chilliwack, Abbotsford, and Langley British Columbia. All board members, presenters, and facilitators donate their time from their professional lives to plan, organize, promote, and present these workshops. Below is a list of the organizations involved in the board, all of whom we would like to thank for their generosity.
Ann Davis Transition Society: The Ann Davis Transition Society is an non-profit organization dedicated to working with families who have challenges involving abuse of women and children.
Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) Chilliwack and Abbotsford: MCFD staff assess, consult, treat, and promote mental health in both children and families within their respective communities. The curriculum form the current BHR workshops has been developed and revised by MCFD staff.
University of the Fraser Valley (UFV): UFV Chilliwack and Abbotsford generously donate facilities for the BHR workshops.
Trinity Western University (TWU) Counselling Psychology Department: TWU Graduate students in the Counselling Psychology department make up the bulk of the facilitators for the workshops. These Masters Level students are trained in counselling techniques and receive course credits for their participation in the BHR.
Local Churches and Private Counseliing Agencies: Local churches and ounselling agencies use the BHR as a stepping stone for couples who are preparing to marry, or who are in conflict, understanding that the principles taught form strong foundations for their relationships. Our workshops save pastors valuable time in pre-marital counselling and can significantly enhance work done in private counselling.
