Regaining emotional stability

Emotional resilience is the ability to keep or quickly regain emotional stability in the face of challenges. It is possible to gain tools and experiences that can strengthen your emotional core, leading to greater emotional resilience.

People in helping professions or the service industry are prone to burn out from the emotional burdens they are exposed to. Apathy, emotional numbness, and disconnect are symptoms connected to when empathic, deep-feeling souls get overloaded.

It is possible for it to be lighter: there is a way for sensitive souls to have new, healthy ways to cope. There exists a place of balance where feeling can happen, with less hurting; where we can witness and empathize with the pain and hardship of others, without losing our own grounding and ability to enjoy our space and life.

This group will help you discover ways to approach each day with greater balance and equip you with tools to keep you feeling safe, whole, and emotionally healthy.

Meets bi-weekly, for 6 sessions, beginning this fall.

Child, Youth, & Parenting Groups

CIB (Children In Between)

Children In Between is a program designed to teach parents and children the impact of children witnessing relationship conflicts between their parents.

The program will teach parents how to support and assist their children as they adapt to changing family relations, and help children learn how to articulate their needs and feelings to their parent(s).

The program also teaches the child ways to tell the parents that they are being put in-between, as well as to identify areas where this commonly occurs.

Research shows that over 60% of children who experience their parent’s separation or divorce have adjustment difficulties and may feel unhappy, angry, dissatisfied with life, depressed, and deeply lonely, but most of the damage is caused not by the divorce itself, but the on-going conflict between the parents.

The goal of this program is to empower parents and their children to adopt healthier communication and conflict resolution practices based on mutual respect and understanding. Please note there is a mandatory parent component preceding the children’s portion.

Forward Motion Group

We are stronger together

Independence is where we aim when we are ready to stop being dependent: and interdependence is where we go when we realize that independence doesn’t hold all the answers.

This group is a space where we do not judge each other or ourselves for where we have been or where we are; where we focus on what is working and making it stronger; where we celebrate successes and share skills and ideas for how to make it through to where we really want to be.

This is a place where dreams can be born and nurtured with love and tenderness. Where hearts learn how to safely share their hurts and struggles and how to receive support from peers. Where we practice valuing our selves with the compassion and esteem we lavish on others.

Together, we grow, and we make progress moving forward in the direction we want to go.

Meets weekly, an open group, that will begin this fall.
